THEM: "Why are you still single?"

ME: "Because you haven't set me up with 'Ms. Right'."

THEM: "We're not your bloody matchmakers!"

ME: "Then why are you interested in my love life?"

THEM: "We're not interested in your love life!"

ME: "Then why are you interested in why I'm still single?"

THEM: "Well, now we know why ... you're a complete and utter jerk!"

ME: "At least I don't pry into other people's private affairs."

I get asked about it all the time. my answer: "Why don't you lose weight/why are you still unemployed/why are you still a nosy sonofabit*h" or whatever applies.

I get that sometimes.. "you can't possibly be single". Why not? People just assume everyone wants to be in a relationship.

My English as a second language students ask me sometimes whether I'm married. I say 'no' and leave it at that.

I don't answer 'because I'm an Aspie, socially awkward, clueless bumbling idiot who's never had a girlfriend at nearly 29 years of age'
