Is it awkward to invite her to stand up and dance with you to the music on your CD player? Especially if you're the only people there and it's slow romantic music? Or is it sweet?

Mind you I'm neither 13 not 65, I'm 20.

Timing is everything.

I know that for me, I couldn't plan something like that, but if I felt strongly inspired and acted immediately it would probably go over well.

If the night is going well and it feels right, I'd say go for it. Have something good for slow-dancing on-hand, just in case, like "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young. I once dated a guy who loved to dance and a few times he just pulled the car over, rolled the windows down, popped in a CD and asked me to dance. Once it was in an abandoned lot and everytime I drive past there, I think of that, even almost 10 years later. Some girls are fools for that sort of stuff.

So what would one say? Something funny like "Oh, rock it baby, come up and dance with me babeeeeh!" or more like "Would you like to dance?"

Actually I did, she is coming next week I told her I was cooking. She said yes, I am so nervous. As I said in my other threads I am a planning freak. The unknown scares me, that's probably why I ask so many questions... Anyway, I walked up to her and said "I just moved into a new apartment and I'm celebrating next week, will you dine with me?" I guess I should have said something else but she said yes, thank God. But maybe she thinks it's a friend thing.

I thought the "Will you dine with me" made my intentions clear? Oh my god... What do I do? I'm freaking out... I obviously can't ring her up and say it's a date.

That was actually a great excuse to ask her over. She does know it'll be just the two of you and not a housewarming party with other guests, right?

I can't believe I have to wait until next week to hear how it goes. You got me all excited about this. Good thing I have such a short attention span ...

Well in my home language it sounded more like "Will you have dinner at my home". I hope she understood my intentions... God I hope I can get a kiss in somehow.

Oh, no, I just saw your other post. If you are that worried about it, is there a chance you might bump into her between now and then? Maybe you could casually say something and test her reaction? But, I think "will you dine with me?" does sound date-like

It sounds date-like. I mean, I think it sounds like you asked her on a date.

I would love to actually dance with a lady. I've never done so before. Something that's fast and rocking though, or funky.
