Post advice about love from pop songs
Since it is commonly agreed that aspie women have it harder than men, I thought I'd start with a little bon mot from 'Wishin' and Hopin'' by Dusty Springfield.
She fires things off with a powerful opening salvo:
Plannin' and dreaming each night of his charms
That won't get you into his arms
She clearly gives no credence to the power of prayer or the 'law of attraction'. Then she goes on:
All you gotta do is
Hold him and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care
And as if that wasn't clear enough, she now offers more specific advice, and then reiterates her opening sentiment:
And do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, 'cause
You won't get him
Thinkin' and a-prayin'
Wishin' and a-hopin'
I hope that helps.

The prey of the beast screamed bloody murder
The line is so fine between hoping and hurting
Former believers, they beg for release
As love looking down on them smiles and picks his teeth
Trapped in between heaven and hell
He knows all the secrets you don't want to tell
There's nowhere to run and there's nowhere to hide
Love knows you all too well, he will find you
Love is the ghost haunting your head
Love is the killer you thought was your friend
Love is the creature who lives in the dark
Sneak up, will stick you and painfully pick you apart
Love is a poet, love sings the songs
Pointing his finger you follow along
Voices are calling, the monster wants out of you
Paws you and claws you, you try not to fall
Love is the leech, sucking you up
Love is a vampire, drunk on your blood
Love is the beast that will tear out your heart
Hungrily lick it and painfully pick it apart
Love is the leech, sucking you up
Love is a vampire, drunk on your blood
Love is the beast that will tear out your heart
Hungrily lick it and painfully pick it apart
Love is a ghost, haunting your head
Love is the killer you thought was your friend
Love is the teacher who lives in the dark
Sneak up and stick you and painfully pick you apart
Your used to wearing less and now your lifes a mess
Insecure you see.
Take your hands from me. I don't belong to you you see
Take one look at my face for the last time
I didn't know you you didnt know me
say hello goodbye
say hello wave goodbye

very ironic to post advice on getting men from a famous lesbian lol
This lesson for the hard-up Aspie women (LOL Moog) comes courtesy of The Marvelettes and their song 'The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game'.
Waxing philosophical in the first verse:
And the world puts on a new face
Certain things rearrange
And this whole world seems like a new place
She then confesses that she went all Sun Tzu, Art Of War on his derrière:
Like a fox that prays on the rabbit
I had to get you and so I knew
I had to learn your ways and your habits
But you can't out-think these things:
But I looked up, and I was in your arms
And I knew I had been captured
The best laid plans of mice and (wo)men!
Hoping you might fall into it
But love hit me like a sudden slap
One kiss, and then I knew it
Ooooh, my plan didn't work out like I thought
I had laid my trap for you
But it seems that I got caught
Something to think about.

Was she?? Huh, I didn't know. I don't know much about famous things. I like her music though.
where as I have never listened to her music and just know facts.
on another theme, do you think its an attractive trait in men, to let their misogyny show in digs at women(or the relative hardships of them)?

I don't know if this is aimed at me or not but I wasn't having a dig at women. My post above is double-dipped in irony with a pinch of sarcasm on top... I'm not sure even I understand it.

it was directed at moog.

Is that what you think I was doing? I just thought I was having a little amusement. I think the 'who has it harder' thing is pointless and I have very little interest in it.

From either Lil Wayne or Notorious B.I.G. I think...
Why do I get the feeling that there are lots of women who love whatever song this is, and worship whatever douchebag either mumbled it or "sang" it through Autotune?
Probably because there are quite a few, but I think the sophisticated population of Wrong Planet would prefer the lyrics if they didn't sound so "ghetto", so...
