i have HFA...... in the past at school and in social situations i am happy that girls do talk too me but recently i have figured out really that the only reason that they talk too me is becuase they feel sorry because of my autism and not becasue consider me dating material or that they actually take me seriously.

it makes me feel quite sad that people just see me as a charity case/special needs person and not as a human being.

any advice on what i can do abou tthis problem? i walk with a weird gate so that is a deal breaker isn't it? i think someone did say on this site that a lot of time people on the spectrum get attention for all the wrongs reasons.

How can you possibly know what those girls are thinking? You can't.

Not necessarily, only if Autism has been taught in school which it never does or will. Besides, a lot of teachers or school administration don't even know themselves what Autism is and etc. so how are a bunch of young peers going to know? Maybe it's just how they see you compared to how you think and believe they see you?

If what you are saying is true, then it's game set and match for you to exceed their low expectations of you. Consider it a powerful position
