I believe that plenty of autistics (me included) have problems with a second meeting. From my experience I find that the first meeting goes well enough but can't get a second meeting.
Your thoughts and opinions.

Some of it is luck of the draw because maybe only a third (?) of first dates lead to a second date.

I sometimes struggle with the balance between being "on" and trying without awkwardly trying too hard.

One of the bigger things I had a problem with was thinking in those terms. I may have watched too many rom coms but where Im from (ireland but hears austraily is similare) there arent many formal dates.

Here asking a girl to dinner is weird but drinking staying at her place is not.
one of the biggest things I've learned is you need to have a cover story. to pretend as though you are not dating.

its wierd and duplicitus but can save a.lot of hartache.

So, it sounds almost like pre-dating, which is fine.

I'm going to Ireland. Haha. Seriously though, act like you are not interested and pretend you are not dating? To me, that seems like I am not wanting anything and that may make a woman uninterested.

I'm from Ireland and have no idea how it's done, mainly since it's been a long time since I last met a girl I wanted to go out with. As in, around five years...

All, I can say: I like how they do it in Ireland. (I don't drink, though).

So, maybe some coffee, as in

"Would you like to grab a cup of coffee?"

And, whether the person says yes or says no, either way is perfectly okay.

I think saying a hot beverage is a better option as not everyone has a coffee.
I still stand by my saying of pushing away rather than helping.
Also, I think women can read any man instantly from some psychic views they have on that man and whether he is the right sort.

I agree, it's a strong way to let a girl know that you're not interested or that you aren't sexual, you should at least reciporate emotional or sexual interest. You can be aloof and disinterested in some cases but this will only work if the girl is very attracted to you in an emotional and physical sense.
