have you guys used this? All of the girls in my area are red necks, and enjoy sky diving and extreme sports. Not a lot of girls in my area on here like philosophy or economics, or critical thinking. And a lot of girls list "He has to be X or Y in order to be a man" It's very disheartening when girls you're not interested in message you.

I tried that site before & I notice the same stuff about women in my area. I also noticed that their forums had a very biased attitude about men. Lots of women were ranting about how guys they meet there treat them badly, cheat on them & abuse them. but when guys made negative post about women there; they got deleted

PoF is a mess. I've also noticed that many women on that site tend to talk negatively about men. While it is a fact that the vast majority of women have experienced some sort of sexual trauma, they allow their anti-male biases to pour over onto the site by writing unfavorable things about men. Why rip up the opposite sex if you're looking to meet someone from that opposite sex?

I've been using POF on and off pretty much since the site first started in 2004.

I have a big love/hate relationship with the site. On one hand, it's the site I've had to most success with and the vast majority of people I've actually met through online dating, I've met through that site. On the other hand, not many people on the site are truly that serious (and one of the people I've met through the site actually said as much during our conversation).

Also, the site has degraded a lot in recent years. I think as the site grew, it became harder for the one guy running it to make money, so the site started adding premium features for cost. Technically, the site is still free, but it's a lot less appealing for me these days and I've been concentrating more on OKCupid.

I haven't gotten a single reply there. Had better luck with OkCupid.

OkCupid is NOT big here in Alberta... lets just say that...

I was just talking to a girl who used "yr" instead of "you're" I told her that it irritated me after she felt the need to
tell me that I was a stupid stoner because I had "bong rips" as first date.

I think if a chick wanted to hit the bong with me for a first date, I'd probably super down with that

All dating sites are crap from my experience. The men on those site are only interested in one thing.

I didnt mean all men. I did get these messages from a few men that I have never seen before that said some very explicit things.

PoF for me is full of yobbos. Ok Cupid on the other hand is it's extreme opposite. I wish there was a dating site full of people in between.

I agree. I think it'd be cool if there was a way to digitally let the person on the bus know you were interested in them, and you could send them a message after you got off the bus and it would link to your mobile profile

Or... you could say hi to that person. You never know... some are down for that sort of thing. The worst that could happen is that she'll think you're a creeper and tell you to go away.

I don't know how true this is, it could be that the women with exciting lifestyles are more outwardly or they stand out from the crowd more whereas the philosophical women tend to be more reserved and thoughtful, it could be that you are looking in the wrong places.
