There is a service that you text that can set you up but it drains cash like mad.
I got talking to a girl who sounded fine enough but it costs loads just to have a conversation. So far I asked her for her number since this costs too much and so far I don't think she has done.

Ventus: "I'm asking you as a friend. Just... put an end to me."

I don't have experience with this type of dating but I doubt the women have an intention to meet or date anyone, it sounds like a scam set up purposely to drain money from people.

Are the women on these services "real"?

(As in genuine members of the public looking for relationships as opposed to people being paid to answer the text messages and keep the correspondence going as long as possible.)

I can't really answer whether it is a con or not. I could think it is a con as much as the next person. Then again in some ways it seems genuine.
I asked for age and location and this person gave that saying that she hopes that I wasn't put off.
