Wish I knew why I can't become emotionally involved.

I just can't pull it off. I understand that's the point of a relationship, but I just don't have that to offer. It's not in me. I can become attached, but I've never found anyone who could understand that disaffection. I wonder if I ever will.

I think it's best to explain to them when the time is right about your condition with AS. Describe to them how it affects you and how you may turn out. This can include the emotional detachment. Hopefully, you will find someone who will understand and will love you just for you unconditionally.
