Love life feels like Groundhog day

I find with romance that things tend to feel a bit like Groundhog Day as I seem to find myself falling down at particular stages of the relationship I rarely get past the first date but if I do manage to build a relationship it has tended to fairly quickly get destroyed if the physical side doesn't go brilliantly right away. It gets frustrating as I want to be able to hold on to a guy for a while so I can experience the different stages of a relationship and get to spend holidays etc with them Has anyone else experienced this and have they got past it?
