Unknowingly? I think I'm seeing a pattern as I learn more about AS, the people around me, and my family. My brothers and their wives, my ex wife, people I click with now and in the past, the fact that my best friend since 6th grade is probably AS, his dad as well.... my boss, and several people she's hired, including me of course.....

Maybe I'm reading into it, but there's a weird thing going on, like we're attracted to each other by some unseen force..... anyone else ever think about this?

It doesn't seem particularly mysterious to me. In my experience most people, AS or not, will seek out people who have the most in common with them. (Obviously there are plenty of exceptions, but it seems like a general trend IMO.)

Many aspies, or people with some similar traits, will probably find they have more in common with each other than with the "average" person. Not necessarily in the sense of specific interests, but as far as general attitude and character traits. It's just a question of selecting the people you're close to based on how compatible they are, which seems pretty normal.

Yes, when two Ass-burgers clash they create a huge black ass-hole.

Actually yeah, in that situation... you can't move away because you are pulled straight back by the "Gravity" of Love.

That's ass-tonishingly an awful thing to say.

Yeah, definitely the traits, the attitude, although it doesn't always produce a good relationship as I've seen. So I'm not crazy in thinking that the obsessives tend to hang with each other..... you could take this idea down a road about how spectrum people will continue to mate with each other and eventually their offspring will evolve into a new species, but I need some mind altering substances for that discussion......

Ass burger.........I now have a picture of someone pooping on a hamburger patty. ew.

To go off topic, all burgers are "ass burgers" since high quality meat comes from the rump.

And remember, birds of a feather flock together and avoid eye contact with each other

Many of my old 'NT' mates are having children on the spectrum

Many of their wives seem on the spectrum too

Many of those mates ARE NOT ASD specifically[even though their children are], though most would be PDD, with some expressing the dark triad, and other narcissistic patterns of behaviour

I suspected that a guy I trained the other day may have been an aspie... or something. [shrug]

I'm more likely to gravitate *away* because of his very poor hygeine... oy he smelled bad and just looked grimy. Yecch!!

I tend to go for people who can handle someone with a calm, analytical approach to things. I also don't like people who tell a lot of jokes or tease me a lot (even in good fun as I always take it in a negative light). Most of the friends i have had have had a melancholy, intellectual side to them too. Oddly enough, of the two friends I have in my age range, one has a child with ASD and one is getting diagnosed for ADHD but also shows autistic traits.
