My ancestors reproduced for four billion years and survived many natural disasters and I don't even have a female friend. I'm scared I will end four billion years of reproduction.

Actually, it's only been about two billion years. And, hey, don't feel bad about yourself. Many times, there is an evolutionary reason to have a family member who does not reproduce because of a certain condition, and it helps. Look at bees and ants--most of them don't reproduce, but they're all still vital. Scientists have even discovered that there must be an evolutionary reason for gay men, since women have better "gaydars" while ovulationg. They postulate that when a family group has a gay man in it, they have a better chance of surviving because he helps take care of their children (instead of taking care of his own possible children, which would apparently spread resources too thin).

There's definitely a reason for Autistic people! Modern society would not even exist if it weren't for people like us. So you're not hurting those two billion years of evolution because you're one of the people who increases his family and species' chances of surviving, whether or not he reproduces.

:D

Yeah, scientific and technological advancement :)

If you're even remotely good-looking, just donate sperm. You don't have to tell them about Asperger's, unless they can dig it up themselves, in which case you will donate in a country where they can't. Or find a private recipient. The evolution is dumb, just trick it.

The possibilities are endless.

i am an evolutionary dead end. my intelligence, my low cholesterol, my family's history of longevity all wasted.

Fate

My cat snuggles.

My cat fetches.

He stalks me.

He makes me his bed.

My cat watches out the window for me.

My cat greets me at the door.

He then pretends he is interested in the hallway, not me.

He brushes my leg.

My cat stretches up my leg, begging to be picked up.

My cat comes when called, expecting nothing more than a cuddle.

He purrs under the covers with me.

He butts my nose or chin with his head.

My cat is neutered.

My cat would have made smart, loving kittens.

He is the kissing cat.

He wonders why, like me, he is an evolutionary dead end.

yet i am mostly content. i have love and purpose and fun in my life. being biologically unsuccessful, failing at the one purpose for which i was created, rarely crosses my mind.

Actually, Homo sapiens has been around for only about 500000 years, with anatomically modern humans existing for some 200000 years. At least that is what Wikipedia says. :)

As for reproduction, here is a video reflecting my thoughts on it (skip to the 1:07 mark):

With that said, I have to admit that, while I do not want marriage or children, I am currently very interested in a girl (who also does not want marriage, although I think she wants children someday).

Sorry for this terrible joke, by the way.

If Aspies are evolutionary dead ends; biological failures, then how has the Aspie gene carried along this far?

I guess it must have been passed down through the AS women.

you dont have to have aspergers to carry the gene...noone in my family has aspergers. I fear I will never have kids which is a shame bc I have a good bloodline

How old are all of you? I have 4 male Aspie friends, all because I thought I had asperger's growing up and thats how we met at uni aged 20, but turns out I have something else on the autistic spectrum, anyway, none of us wanted marriage or kids even though we were brilliant around kids.

Now, 3 of my Aspie male friends who found it impossible to talk to a girl or flirt with one... have all got girlfriends and two of them don't bother telling the girls they are Aspie. They just tell me the girls think they're quirky which is fine with them! We're all 29.

Even people without asperger's find it hard to date... what you need to remind yourselves is that you have a great sense of humour, you are able to open up honestly about yourself on this forum so you know a lot about yourselves already and there is still time to pass on your sperm and create a kid and continue that bloodline if you want to... or she wants you! :)

D had to wait til he was 28 to date and now he's engaged to a girl who he is not going to live with even when they marry so you see quirky relationships work and it does happen!!
