To all females: What if your BF/husband cries?

I thought this should go here since it is sorta love-related.

Yeah, I'm a guy. And I cry on occasion.

So, to all of the females out there, what would ya do if you saw your boyfriend/wife crying? As a guy, I know mine would be there for me and she'd comfort me the best that she can.

I would hold him and stroke his hair, listen to what he was crying about or just sit there is quiet if that was what he wanted. I would never pressure him to talk if he didn't want.

I would try to make him feel safe in my arms.

They should smack him upside the head until he mans the f*** up!

Ironic, I am a boy who gets sad occasionally, personally, I would love (pun intended) to be shushed and petted until I fall asleep if or when I get a girlfriend.

I can't deny I find it slightly disturbing when men cry as it's so unexpected and tends to make me think they must be really upset to be displaying it so overtly.

Remember this, it takes a real man to cry, and if he's one of those "stoic" types chances are he secretly wants to cry on the inside sometimes.

I've seen it, it's not a big deal. Now, if it were trotted out for every little thing (as a means for manipulation), I'd have an issue. But normal crying, no issue.

Disclosure: I'm highly reluctant to let anyone see me (a female) cry. But that's my own choice.

Well I would probably try to comfort them.

Don't be so over judgemental about what is manly or not. People are people and even tough men want to cry sometimes.

My husband has honestly beaten a crack head to death without hesitation but cries more than me.
Absolutely nothing wrong with men crying lol.

I would do what I do when anyone cries, awkwardly hold him and IF he's someone I can make laugh this way, I would probably make a joke about absorbing his tears and with those tears, a little piece of his soul that I will demand ransom for when he's feeling less sad. Or some kind of similar joke to make him feel comfortable about crying!

I have seen my BF freak out a lot and get angry, but not seen him cry yet. But he has cried over the phone more than I have. I just try to calm him down and tell him the positives. If he were in front of me I'd do the same. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to be touched becausehe gets too emotionally stressed.

I would pet him and hug him until he felt better, or I would talk to him about what exactly he's upset about. Or a combination of both. Well, unless he told me what he wanted to do. Video games help, too.

The few times it happened, I found myself wondering if there was something wrong with me for not crying, too, and beating myself up for having no idea what the appropriate response was.
