My big problem is that I have no social circle to speak of, and so cannot compare the two. Any answers, 'cause I'm genuinly confused.

It is difficult.

Some may say they love their close friends. I wouldn't admit to it, but I may love some of my friends.

But I love girlfriends and my family more. So I would do more for them or have them as a higher priority.

Sorry. I should explain better. I mean liking a guy as a friend, or like-liking a guy as a potential boyfriend. I think.

If you like a guy as a friend, that's a good thing.
If you like a guy as a potential boyfriend, that's also a good thing.

Ive sorta inquired people on this one. And one explanation is, if you like him as a potential bf, you are physically attracted to him. But that sorta confuses me. I guess its when you have feelings for them. I've gone through some confusing situations where I did not know whether there was anything more then friendship way to many times. So I am still confused. The line is rather blurred sometimes.

For me, the difference is the level of emotional attachment. I could go days or weeks without any interaction with my friends and be fine, but with any girl I've liked, I've had to get some attention from at least every other day. Another thing would be how close you feel. With friends it feels as if there's a glass between us. And I'm fine with that, because I like my privacy. Thing is I need one person I can share everything about myself with, and be able to feel safe about it.

Ditto. Can't sum up my opinions and feelings better than this.

Yeah I actually can relate to that quite a bit. I normally want a lot of attention from the person. Fustrated when I cant get that attention. It can be a stronger attachement but I have some pretty close friends. Its kinda subjective.
