I see plenty of guy threads right now, time for the girls to have a say. Topic is pretty straight forward: What do you look for in a guy?

most importantly, i look for someone who shares my interests. after that, i consider how healthy their lifestyle is (non-smoking, non-drugging, moderate or non-drinking, healthy eating and exercise). i value honesty, intelligence, and compassion.

I searched around for other topics like this a while ago and I think that the most common answers were:

- Intelligence;
- Honesty;
- Needs to be romantic;
- Kindness;
- A sense of humor.

I am not sure if I am romantic (never had a chance to discover) and, while I may be surprisingly kind sometimes, I am also very blunt/rude sometimes. Therefore, I am not sure if I fit the criteria of most women (answer: judging by my lack of success, I do not).

DISCLAIMER: It should be noted that, while I strongly suspect I have Asperger's syndrome, I am not diagnosed. Nevertheless, my score on RAADS-R is 186, which makes me a pretty RAAD guy.

At least I "look" intelligent (whatever the hell that means :? ): everybody who knows me seem to think I am some kind of huge nerd/genius just by looking at me. I am not sure why, but I develop a reputation for this almost immediatelly when I meet new people.

I am not sure if I qualify, though; while I am better than average at learning, analyzing, planning and solving problems, my emotional intelligence is terrible, as you surely have noticed by now. Not to mention my lack of social skills.

I guess I am a mix between academically and professionally gifted and socially and emotionally ret*d.

money, power, looks?

my husband is quite overweight. looks aren't that important.

my husband is a follower. if he were offerred a supervisor job, he wouldn't take it. he is very agreeable, one of my favorite things about him. power is not that important.

between the two of us, we make enough to be comfortable. a little money makes life livable. loads of money? irrelevant.

Perhaps it's a trade-off so that the more academically gifted an autistic person is, the less socially adept. For example I'm not overtly academic, not good at making friends but have managed to make a few friends/acquaintances and have been relatively successful with relationships. I'm convinced friendship and relationship abilities are in two separate brain modules so that a person can be ok/good at one but no good at the other. Otherwise people who had few problems making friends would generally be ok at finding relationships too as a relationship is just another form of social interaction. I seem to intuitively know what to do where relationships are concerned but not with friendships.

I had no idea I had a secret admirer. :P I wouldn't mind an older woman, but then I guess that depends on how much a difference it is so you may be right.

Further investigation? Guess I should try to post more. It's kinda crazy seeing some like you who've joined after me have over twice as many posts. 8O Though I guess I have slowed down a bit over the years on message boards in general. That and I took a break from posting here for a while. I'd like to think I'm funny, or at least I try, but I'm not so sure about how intelligent I am. :P
