I'm seeing a girl and after I last saw her (she lives 2 hours away) she seemed a bit distant with her texts so I backed off, gave her some space until yesterday. I asked if I could call her in the evening and she agreed, however she didn't answer the phone.

I left it until this morning, asking if we're all good for my visit on Friday, to which she responds with saying she's got a load of assessments and probably wouldn't have a free weekend for a while. I replied and have not heard anything since.

Is it something I should be worried about? This lack of communication sends my brain into overdrive, paranoia and anxiety etc. I've never been good with this kind of stuff, why can't I just be cool? She knows my Aspie background but would it be too much to ask for a little communication?

Gaaah, rant over.

I would be a little concerned. How long have you two been seeing each other? If it's not very long then I would be worried less. Maybe she really does just have a lot to do and needs the time. Back off completely and see if she seeks you out. Thats always a good litmus test.

This. How much space did you give? Are we talking half a day? A day? 2 days or more? What do you consider space just no contact or a text here and there?? When did you meet and what sort of relationship do you have right now?
I think these are all important details that would help fill the gaps in this story and determine whether she really is busy, needs more space or is tossing you aside.

I would go a day or so and see if she contacts you at all. Then send a text saying you've been busy but have been thinking of her, then wait some more and see. If she doesn't seem to care that you've backed off...then I would say back off forever and move on. But if she has feelings then she'll notice the lack of attention and start contacting you more to see what the problem is.
