Then responds to text 3 days later. Soft rejection, right?

Wouldn't the number be different though?

No. You keep the same number when you get a new phone.

Possible "soft rejection" to what, exactly?

I'm not sure exactly how many phones owned by daughters have gone to phone heaven due to death by water, but it is a heart breakingly large number. Double digits, I'd guess.

Continue, but watch for other signs of soft rejection such as long replies, one word answers, lack of reciprocity.

If she was rejecting you, I don't think she'd respond again after 3 days.

It sure can happen. Mine fell into the toilet once :? I am *so* clumsy.

And depeding where you live, 3 days to get a new one? That's not too bad. If it was under contract and insured the service providers can drag their feet. And yes, keeping the number is standard. I've had the same number for years despite having had different phones with different "deaths".

From experience of soft rejection this is not typical. It is much more clumsy than this, I mean the reasoning not the act of getting water on phone.

In anyway it is pointless act as if so, because hard or straight rejection is preferable. Soft rejection is intend to be nice, but it is not clear so don't make a meal out of it.

Someone dropping their phone down toilet or putting in washing machine, is something to laugh about, don't loose your sense of hour.

Laugh it off, say "Oh well never mind". then move on.

If you act all doom and gloom, that is a drag, not easy going.
