Seeing as people liked 'The Undateables' programmes, I wondered if they would also like 'My Mad Fat Diary', another
UK TV drama series that has the search for love and unrequited love as themes:-

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/my-mad-fat-diary/4od

"Sharon Rooney stars in this six-part drama that looks at life from the perspective of funny, music-mad 16-year-old Rae, based on the real-life diaries of Rae Earl"

"In the opening episode, Rae is discharged from psychiatric hospital after months of treatment.

Back in the real world, all she wants is to be a normal teenager, but when you're secretly mad and your mother is hiding her new Tunisian boyfriend from immigration, it's not that simple.

Rae discovers her best friend Chloe is hanging out with a new gang, but will she be able to fit in with them?

SERIES SYNOPSIS
Set in the mid-90s at the height of Cool Britannia, this six-part drama is based on Rae Earl's real-life diaries. It takes a hilarious and honest look at teenage life through the eyes of Rae, a funny, music-mad 16 year old who, despite an eccentric mother, body image and mental health issues, has a huge lust for life, love and trying to get laid."

I only caught up with the series at episode 5 last week as I don't normally watch programmes on E4. I thought it was very good, so will be watching all the earlier episodes too. The music is from the 90's and the characters are really true to life and engaging.

I loved it so much! My friend and I geek out over all the music in it (except the club bit, as IF they would've been playing Blue Monday etc in 1996, it would've been jungle and dnb surely?!) and say that if we were there we would be friends with Rae and show her that she was actually pretty damn cool.

Gutted the series is over already, I'm looking forward to the next one :)

Yes it's really good isn't it :D

'Blue Monday' gets played a lot because it's a timeless classic so it could easily have been played for that fact
in 1996

There doesn't seem to be much interest in the programme on here
