I do not intend to offend anyone by anything I say or may say.

Do you think/believe two people autistic/aspies could have a successful marriage?

What would it take? (in your opinion or from experience)

How different are people with high functioning Autism from those with Asperger's?

It seems much easier to find men with Autism than those with Asperger's. Yes I know it's all on the spectrum...

Do you think two people on the spectrum are less likely to divorce, more likely or about the same as NT or NT/ASD marriages?

My guess is that there are advantages, and disadvantages, to both ( a spectrumite being married to a fellow spectrumite, and a spectrumite being married to an nt). The divorce rate is probably about the same.

There advantages to having a relationship with someone with opposite strengths and weaknesses, and there are advantages to having one with someone who is similiar to you.

They could, yes.

It would take the same things as any marriage, love, compromise, etc.

As far as I know, no different, as HFA & Asperger's are interchangeable names for the same thing.

The new DSM-V considers us all to have ASD. I'm guessing from what you wrote that it's easier to find people with more classical Autism symptoms than high functioning? Or is it that more people identify with the label of Autism vs. splitting hairs and saying they have Asperger's or HFA? Or is it more that you're able to find more with Autism than AS because many with AS are oblivious to the fact that they're even on the spectrum? That could be, too.

No idea what the stats are on ASD/ASD marriage success. Regardless of the stats, I think it's going to depend largely on the two individual people involved & not generalized statistics at all.

I have come across far more men that have Austism. ASD= Autism Spectrum Disorder yes we are all on the spectrum. HFA isn't quite the same as Asperger's it actually seems more like some people want to remove Asperger's all together. Hopefully all of the semantics will get worked out. Everyone on the spectrum are "autistic" but not all with classic autism asperger's can be mild to sever too. Mine is moderate.

Looks like a lose lose as I thought.

Be optimistic. Actually, I think ASD people have something in common.
