I see the whole 'nerd' concept as society rejecting previous ways of being ie:-

nice
kind
decent
genuine
loyal
shy
modest
responsible
intelligent

Basically these have all been rejected as desired personality traits so there's nothing intrinsically 'wrong' with the people called nerds today; they are just out of time ie being that way isn't the fashion any more. I think society is all the poorer for this. Selfishness, loudness, brashness and callousness has become the order of the day basically, along with the need to be hyper-sexual due to the increasingly pervasive influence of the porn industry on daily life.

No one gains from the rejection of 'nerds' as basically they were/are the decent people who are all about content over form and that's what you need to run a decent society, not everyone wanting to be famous

Nerds aren't about being 'sexy' - they are about being responsible, intelligent, dependable and moral. Getting things done as opposed to being the best lay. The need for everyone to be overtly 'sexy' is ruining society in my opinion as being sexy is not an inherently useful characteristic.

Lots of groups of people arent sexy by default.
This includes:
-Most religious groups
-Geeks
-Nerds
-People that are obsessed with a certain sport(not everyone buffs up doing physical activity so going to the gym wont make you sexy unless you have the right body type)

Does that mean that people should:
-Stop believing in whatever god they believe in?
-Change their interests to something that they are unenthusiastic about?
-Stop going to the gym if the routine of going/releasing endorphines makes them happy?

If you ask me it just means that you need to attempt to present yourself in a way that you arent defined by:
-Religion
-Interests
-Going to the gym

I used to present myself with my main interests.
I loved talking about whatever special interest I had at the time and people didnt react that well to me(people avoided me, I did most group projeccts on my own...)

Right now Im trying to find other angles that are equally important to me and more appealing to others.

People react much better to unexpected jokes for example than a random fact I just found out about whatever tv show Im watching(I actually spent 10 minutes explaining to several class mates the last tv show Im into after they asked me and most of them thought I wasnt being serious until we got to a point where they said they may have seen an ad about it at some point just to shut me up(once upon a time))

People also love to talk about themselves so I stick to asking questions about themselves and introducing factoids about my interests that are related to their life.
Last year for example someone was explaining me how high speed internet cables actually waste most of their potential because laptops cant currently proccess as much information. When he asked me if I understood I merely pointed out most digital cameras do a similar proccess to avoid giving out images that are huge.
Yesterday we were talking about how some jobs require materials that are extremely expensive if you want to succeed and I went back to how expensive proffesional lenses can be. Not one person complained.

Those tiny changes along with the "clothing update", which isnt really an update since most of my clothes were bought several ages ago, , have improved the way most people act around me.

A number of the "nerds" that I remember from school seemed to think that they were smarter and more clever than everyone else. Therefore, they would usually act like smug arrogant-pricks. They were also snitches that liked to kiss-up to the most hated teachers in the school faculty.

 I saw a NIPPLE!! !

Ok, now that is disturbing.

I've learned that one has to be cautious. Some people are deeply and profoundly offended by human nipples, to the point where they will not tolerate the sight of a partially-nude torso. Others could gaze at nipples all day and not be affected.

Well, yes. All of the available evidence would seem to suggest so.

I don't think it's true though that nerdy/geeky tendencies always make your sexier.

Sometimes, one is seen sexy regardless of his nerdy/geeky tendencies.

I don't think girls drool over this guy because of his D&D hobby:

I highly doubt that many of his female fans even know about his D&D thing, he's seen sexy by them because of his looks and attitude, the D&D doesn't give him any "+++" (nor ---) to his sexiness.

Checking back in to this topic. If someone finds you sexy, whether obsessed or not, doesn't it still count for being sexy? If you count the number of decent women who are desperate and want some one to love, someone to attach to and never let go, you will find a suprising amount of them, I would think. The thing is they always seem to be far away, or prone to seeing your love for them as false. If you want a date for a serious LT relationship, I would imagine, like others have said in regards to the more fling type romance, it is a matter of how much you are willing to bend and remain stiff when appropriate and how much you really actually want it.

To women who enjoy D&D it is, but they would have to know how to hide it like him. Some nerdy things can be sexy, like trade skills, metalcraft (welding, black smithing, sword smithing, machining, mechanics, electrician), woodcraft, masonry, plumbing, and carpentry are all skills useful in a relationship. Fix her car, fix her house, fix her fireplace, fix her toilet, fix her lights, fix her outlets, fix her cable. All these things have a nerdy side to them, yet ladies like men who fix things and are at least productive even without a job. Note, nerd skills, not nerd obsessions. They may not sound nerdy, but then again, knowing how to make $500 hatchets in your back yard with scrap metal IS.

She wanted to show her legs and her cat, got that.

Besides, I don't fit her criteria, so I'm apparently uncool even by nerd standards...

Some women find my skills in linguistics and knowledge in Asian culture and interest in anime sexy but usually they fit in the same fandom criteria of otaku!
