This thread asks the following question: What does "true romance" mean to you?
----
It means a romance that is fulfilling, loving, and a happy one. It doesn't have to be marriage, but it can be the most loving relationship you can be in.

It means someone who enjoys being annoyed. Meaning I don't have to constantly gain and regain her approval and acceptance. Where I can entertain her because I love her, not because I fear her. If she can trust me enough to not make me responsible for her happiness, and I can trust her enough to not make her my best hope for a normal life, that's romance. The absence of silly barriers I suppose. "True" romance is where we compliment each other to the point that we are much better off together.

True romance is where you are true soulmates.
Where you have enough in common that you don't conflict each other in any major way.
Yet you are different enough that it remains interesting.
It's also where you totally let go, and accept each other, and yourselves as who you and they are.
It only works if you are capable of unconditional love, and they are too.
If you can manage it, it's the best love you will ever find, and nothing will ever compare to it.
If you're really lucky like me, you will find it in your spouse.
You won't live happily ever after like a fairy tale.
But you will support each other through hard times, which makes sticking together worthwhile, and the hard times easier to cope with.
