i like the smell of manly sweat...

having been in martial arts a long time... i've smelled a great variety of it!! !

it's suppoesd to have to do with pheramones (i couldnt reall ALL your post) and helps determine to whom you're attracted to.

so there's good smelling sweat... as well as stinky BO

:)

*googles pheromones+BO*

Apparently, there are pheromones in BO as well, but I agree that "exercise sweat" and BO are two completely different smells.

Does anyone else find BO smells like frying ground beef and onions?

Maybe this is gross, but my boyfriend smells very nice when he sweats, especially under the arms when he forgets to wear deodorant. I have never smelt anything like it. He lets me take a sniff... heavenly!

But any other BO I have smelt has not been good.

I dont have a link for the research but have mentioned before. There have been similar studies saying that women are attracted to certain mens smells(not all) based on that individuals genitic compatability.I am not sure how compatibility was measured....someone that did not have a genetic marker for an illness that needed both parents as carriers.(anyone with a link,I would be interested in reading more.

My boyfriends have always smelled great to me(I would sleep with their smelliest shirts and take big "hit" off it).The sexual response for me was NOT subtle but intense.I have smelled other BO that I would gag on....yuck.

Other odd smells....my feet sweating smells like buttered popcorn and male "spunk" smells like bleach to me(Not very pleasant). My own BO changes with the time of my cycle....the worst is "skunky" and requires instant bath.(sorry if TMI)

The perspiration from work or exercise is far different from nervous perspiration or stale sweat caused by not having washed in a long time. I smell plenty of the latter on people coming into the library, and it is rank! Sometimes it makes me ill. Worse yet are the people who wear perfume or cologne in an attempt to disguise the fact they haven't washed. Ick!

Okay...maybe that "could" explain things, I'm not about to give anyone the sniff test too soon though...my ex used to just smell "rank" to me when he was sweaty....maybe I should have taken that as a warning in the beginning that we weren't compatabile...could have saved alot of grief. :D

Some people do smell horrible and no amount of bathing can help. I think that has a lot to do with diet and living habits, in addition to just who they are. I also think it is about attraction at a biochemical level.

During the long distance romance stage of our relationship, my boyfriend (now my husband) once sent me a tee shirt that he had slept in for three nights. His scent was different from anyone else I've ever smelled, and there have been a number of men in my life. I slept with that shirt of his and there was element in that smell of his body that made me feel warm and comforted from two thousand miles away.
