Hey there, gentle reader. And the ungentle ones out there, too :P

I've been thinking about this for a while, and another thread has got me inshpired. Sho.

Imagine you could create your own robot, which looked exactly like you wanted them to look. Acted like your ideal partner would in any social/private situation. You could change their programming at any time; even better, Dr Tiger has integrated recognition software into their circuits that would recognise your state of mind, and adapt to it. They could fool everyone in society that they were a human being. Noone would know, after you took the price tag off of course!

They would be so real that they'd be better than reality. And you'd forget very quickly that they weren't.

So - yes, no? What would yours be like? What role would you have them fulfill in your life?

(please note that sending them to kick my behind is NOT an acceptible answer)

Would I do it? Sure.
Could I live with myself knowing what I've done after? Yes but it would take a very long time to get over the fact I've objectified women to the point I got a sentient love doll. I'd probably pay for that internally for the rest of my life

So sure I'll say Yes for the lulz. :D

YES to the robot partner, NO to programming it myself.

I am actually a computer programmer, but its just creepy having a partner that you know everything about because you programmed them.

You can programme in a degree of randomness and flexibility. In fact, the special chip will actually read your desire for randomness and drama. All bases covered (are belong to us)

(I've got a van full of these b***ers I'm trying to shift, it's like a digital Castle Anthrax meets Only Fools And Horses )

Please note that this thread was not influenced by some 80s w*nkfest. It was influenced by another thread, my recent trip to Homebase and a Mr P.K.Dick....stop laughing.

Yeah yeah yeah, like that's your only reason! "Ooh, let's whip it out for dinner parties". Then you shove it back underneath the stairs like some sort of first-generation Dyson.

I'm not sure I'd even know where to start with designing or programming one. I don't really have a type, I just know what I like when I see it. Do you have a catalog of base models I could choose from and customize?
