Does it always seem that your relationships always mean SO MUCH MORE to you than your NT partner?? Maybe it's because people on the spectrum fall harder for the concept of love than the actual connection with that other person. Love is as love does. My previous realtionships as a young woman were me always doing for that other person and that person doing squat for me. I used to build this grandious illusion in my head that I had a love affair when actually it was plenty of sex for them and doodle for me. I would hold on to people who couldn't care less for me for usually up to about 3 to 4 years convincing myself that they loved me. Investing in them constantly, wishing and hoping only to be crushed to find out they actually were having a real relationship with somebody else. I was a source of release, a source of money, a way to build their ego. Think about this. Wouldn't you like a REALationship? I married another person on the spectrum - a stable, hardworking, sane aspie with a belief in God and I'm happy. It feels good to be loved unconditionally. I don't miss the past.
