Where is a good place to meet possible suitors?
I am not comfortable at bars and clubs, and online never works out for me, I want a decent person, where can I find one?
It was suggested that I discuss my home town population and interests, so here it goes:
I live in Michigan, next to one of the known cities. The city next to me is very populated, but dangerous, so I prefer to be there during day.
I have a lot of interests, but here are 10:
Tattoos
art (seeing it, not making it)
poetry
Anything to do with the Renaissance times
Coffee
learning about different countries and cultures
Music (anything but country)
Animals
Nature
Intellectual conversations
If this helps you to help me, that would be great.

Are there social gatherings based around any of your hobbies or interests?
Also, tick off about 5 or 6 of your hobbies/interests for us if you would, please. That may trigger ideas from people.
Edit:
I just ran across your 'hello' post. I'm pulling these in from there.
So, how large is your town, that may help us, too. (*crosses his fingers that she doesn't say UP*)
Some ideas:
-o Hang around art galleries.
-o Take an art class at a local college. Even just an extension course.
-o Same as above, but for photography
-o The tattoo/piercing shops in my neighborhood inevitably have chairs/a waiting area. Have you tried going in there and just "chatting" with the employees? It's a long shot, but romance always is.

The answer to your question depends on what kind of men you wish to meet. If you want to meet professional or businessmen, a civic organization such as Rotary or joining the country club might work. If blue collar men are your thing, then you might try a bowling alley. If meeting men with intellectual inclinations is your thing, I might suggest hanging out at your local library, book store, or taking a class at your local college.
Good luck.
