I (male) used Geek 2 Geek back in 2010. It was horrible!! ! Way worse than mainstream dating sites. I had a lot of crap like one-line replies ("yea, me to" [sic]) to a well-written paragraph, nonsense replies, correspondences that went nowhere, phone number given but never picks up, and last-minute date cancellations. That was true even with genuinely geeky girls. I began to wonder whether "mean girls" types join that site strictly to mess with geeky guys they despise. The only site worse than that was Match.com (all I described, plus paying $50 a month). Geek 2 Geek is still around, but last time I checked it, it looked like a shadow of its former self.
By contrast, my good experiences were on OKCupid, and before it went downhill, on Plenty of Fish.
*Le sigh*
POF (at least in my area) is almost nothing but rednecks. I tried Match and eHarmony a few years ago, and they had almost exactly the same people that were on POF, only I had to pay for the privilege of reading their crappy profiles. LOL
Maybe after I retire in 3 years I'll move to Silicon Valley.

I was reading this blog of a serial single some time ago and one of the writers main points was that after a while it was pretty pointless.
Lets face it: We all know the free dating sites and whatnot so you are high likely to find a replica of the same profiles you didnt like in POF, okcupid... very few people stick to just one dating site hoping to find someone different and they tend to find the same profiles which is very discouraging(is there nobody else left?, am I doomed to be alone?...)
So in short changing your dating site wont is unlikely to change the people you meet.
You may try looking at nearby areas if you think that this redneck thing could be less of an issue(I knew redneck areas attract redneck areas but it wouldnt hurt to have a look)
