I'm new here. I am 21 years old, male and I'm a student. I live in Austria.
I have been diagnosed with Aspergers during my depression treatment. It turned out that the constant obilgation to socialize (in school, at university etc.) and being pushed into places full of strangers lead to a severe depression because I could no longer handle it. Finally we found the source for the "fear" which eventually explained my entire life: Aspergers.
It didn't really surprise me and I have no problem with it, but it's extremely difficult to make people understand you. Even many psychotherapists were quite overchallenged by the way I am. They compulsively tried to make a socially functioning being out of me, which I don't want to be. Until now I found my own ways to deal with it: Through art, photography, music and writing. I love it because it is a way to interpret the way in which I perceive the world.
I even found a girlfriend but eventually it didn't work out because she started to crush me with her social demands and she simply wasn't able to understand the way I am.
I realized that the only kind of partner I can have a serious relationship with is someone who has Aspergers too.
I am convinced that there is a way for me to share and experience love; through full understanding and trust.
It's hard to describe what I really expect from a relationship, but most likely it's sharing an "Alien-life" on this planet and building together a safe haven. No matter if we can see each other or if it's a long distance relationship and we would exchange through writing/virtually. No matter if physical contact is desired or not - I can live with both. However,
sharing experiences is what I want to go for. Maybe, sometimes or somewhere we can meet...or we won't...but that's not important. As time goes by we will find out each other's requirements.
