Okay, so there's this guy who I like (which may seem a bit unusual, since I myself am a guy), and I've wanted to get to know him, because he seems nice, but I don't have much time to try to talk to him around class (not to mention I'm very afraid!). I asked some people for advice in this type of situation and they said to leave a note on his desk, so I did, basically asking if he wanted to talk and leaving some information so he could contact me outside of school first. Well, nothing ever came of that, and I've been wondering why. Maybe I was a bit too forward, but I was trying to seem at least a bit casual. I also know I have a tendency to frighten people at times (including one of his friends, I believe), and at lunch I do sit with some acquaintances who I find particularly disagreeable (indeed - they've made fun of him, specifically!) Unlike past interests, I feel as though by leaving that note, I've committed myself to this. Should I just let it go?

i would let it go now.

there are lots of other people on the planet and if you get stuck on one who is not interested, then you are missing out on others who could be.

test. sorry about all that, guy, the server was giving me DEBUGGING messages. Natually I didn't think they posted as they hadn't on my end. Sorry again!

Being strait and being pursued by the same sex is pretty violating. Tsk Tsk if this is what you are doing. If if is a guys guy than geez, ask him already!

Well, I hate to make assumptions, but the truth is that he fits the stereotype commonly assigned to gay men. I wasn't trying to come on too strongly, either - just in case! The gist of my note was basically asking if he wanted to chat and if that worked out then maybe I could join him at lunch. I don't think I hinted at anything that wasn't completely platonic. I realize that just coming out of nowhere...would have been a bit creepy!

Besides, this was the only time I've made any attempt at communication with him. And I'm not following him and his friends through the halls, either. :P

EDIT: Whoa, man! The first time all day a post has registered for me!

I think all men act a bit gay honestly, until it comes to bed time. How do you tell the difference?

Good luck!

Maybe you'll have better luck than me, the ones I like usually turn out to be gay or married.  must be the happyness I'm attracted to.

Yeah, no kidding about the posts, what's happening around here today?

I'm sure it's just as violating as being pursued by someone of the opposite sex...or someone of the opposite sex and their friend, also of the opposite sex...or someone of the opposite sex and their friend, with the former's ex-boyfriend and a bunch of bystanders egging the struggle on (Sorry, just venting some uncomfortable memories from about three years ago ). The difference is that they were persistent and vocal about it.
