I was watching bits and peices of Charles and Cammilia's Wedding on the News all through Saturday. I was happy for them at first. But as I started to fall asleep, I started thinking about Diana. I now find myself getting very nostalgic about the 1980s, when Charles and Diana were together. Charles wasn't the greatest Husband in the world, I'm aware, but I still have trouble letting go of Diana and she died almost 8 years ago. On the other hand, Charles is now married to the woman that he wanted all along, so I'm happy for him.

How does everybody else feel about their marrage?

To be honest, I don't give a toss. Sorry, I despise the Royal Family... :?

I watched a lot of the wedding because it was on nearly every channel here.

I dunno, it's the same thing that happens all over suburbia - people marry the wrong person for the wrong reasons, have children, break up a family, people get hurt. At least he got some looks into the family genes. I feel sorry for Diana being used like that, but she must've wanted the 'marry a prince' thing pretty badly. Still, it was awful the way they drove her insane just to discredit her, like in some gothic novel. I wouldn't like either of them to get the crown, I think it should skip that generation.

The royal family have never been shy about getting rid of people who are inconvenient to them, I mean look at Henry VIII.

The Royal Family are really weird. I guess it's good for Charles and Camilla. After all, the two of them have (supposedly) always loved each other, and Charles and Diana were never in love with each other. Has anyone else noticed that Camilla walks like a man? Actually, I don't really care one way or the other about the Royal Family.

I agree.

Wait...I just thought of a story I think you will like, CockneyRebel! My mum's sister met Sarah Ferguson accidently once. My aunt arrived in England with her husband to visit his family. My aunt had jet lag from the long flight from Australia to Britain. While my aunt was taking a nap in the front room of the house, there was a knock at the door. She went to answer it, and Sarah Ferguson was standing at the door. She was dropping off my uncle's niece and nephew. Her daughters (the princesses) and my uncle's niece and nephew attended the same school and they were having a carpool. So there you go, that's my Royal Family story. Our family really took the mickey out of my aunt for answering the door wearing trackpants and no makeup to find the Duchess of York and the princesses standing there!

The royal family are so weird that even autistic people are turned off by their weirdness...

That's not good...

That said the Queen's a classy bird...

I didn't watch it because I don't see the point in having a royal family. Really annoys me them being on the front page for drinking (or something), and then a brutal murder being on the second page.

Same here, I could never understand all the fuss over that Diana women, or have any enthusiasm for royal marriages. It's all a load of hype created to sell tabloid newspapers.

However, I like the idea of the monarchy because it separates being British from politics. For example, it would be one thing to die for Queen and country, and another thing to die for Tony Blair and country. A subtle difference, I know; perhaps more psychological than tangible, but important, nonetheless. Also, I could call Tony Blair a liar, cheat and hypocrite, without being unpatriotic; because the Queen is head of state, not that cheesy-grinning a***hole.

God save the Queen!

And may politicians rot in hell  .

charles might have a face like a bag full of spanners, but he is an extremely erudite man, knowing lots about lots - ask stephen fry.

Charles and Cammilla might be the sickest people in the world for all I know. But if they love each other, they should be together. We only live once and human chemistry is never something that people, other than the two human elements reacting, can ever understand or judge.

Diana was no freaking angel either. Will we ever get a public DNA test done on her sons? Is Charles the father? What really grossed me out was to see such a fuss over her demise, in comparison to Mother Theresa, who died the same week and had more character and courage in a pinkie than all royalty.

Interesting that they met. (Di and mother T)...I dunno about mother T being any 'freaking angel' herself, there are some sceptics around.
