lol there are female anime and video games fans, but that stuff is not a turn-on. You are not "getting any" that way.

Also, I'm sure you know the actual meaning of that word, so I'd implore you not to use it in a self-describing fashion

Had to look this one up. An "otaku" is a person who stays home a lot because they don't have a life. Someone who compulsively surfs the Internet and watches anime.

An "Otaku", in Japan, is often a hikikomori, which is a person who shuts themselves in and only rarely leaves their room or home. An otaku isn't always a hikikomori, but the two coincide often enough that they are assumed to be the same thing.

In the United States, "Otaku" is the term used by Japan fanatics who don't want to be called weeaboos, nerds, or other various bits of semi-offensive slang.

Yeah, there are women who are into men who like anime and games. You'll probably find them at a convention, library, or book store. But that's not the thing that'll get them interested in you. Be friendly, respectful, and try to make friends (as opposed to trying to get laid). You might come across someone who's interested.

Otaku (おたく/オタク?) is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom. In modern Japanese slang, the term otaku is mostly equivalent to "geek" or "nerd". However, it can relate to any fan of any particular theme, topic, hobby or form of entertainment.[6] "When these people are referred to as otaku, they are judged for their behaviors - and people suddenly see an ?otaku? as a person unable to relate to reality". Here in the west it pertains to anime fan or anime geek, in Japan it just means your a geek or nerd. I think the ideal mate should be someone as geeky and quirky as myself with the same interests and hobbies.

I've run into a few women who were into that kind of thing, and they were all completely insane.

my daughter who is 16 is mad on manga and goes to a monthly appreciation club at the library with other teens and young adults who are all mad on it, she even went to comiccon in london cosplaying as italy from hetalia (sp?) her and her friends are all mad on cosplay and anime it seems really popular. You should join some group of it, cosplay seems a really good way to meet women as they like hugging the blokes who play their love interest in the cartoon. Nearly all the other teens/young adults have aspergers aswell at her group so its a aspie friendly environment/culture.

note, Im not suggesting you date my daughter but mearly useing her as an example of how popular anime is with young women.

Just my opinion though. I've had a lot of bad experiences with people like that.

I was looking along the lines of possible long term similar hobbies and interest make things a lot easier to understand one another.

:eew: Too young and good to know! The youngest I go for is maybe 24 it creeps me out going for younger and at 16 that's what pedobear would go for unless someone else was 16 or 17. I have had some women around my age come on to me at anime conventions but the irony of it is i have been too entranced in my obsessions with anime I wasn't able to pay attention to their ques because when I go to anime conventions I go to satisfy my hobbies and such and get too enthralled in talking about the latest episode of One Piece instead of catching on to wanting to go out for a cup of coffee due to similar interests! I will have to work on that I have my hikikomori like moments but I do go out I have a Job and now I have a car so it might help somewhat with my chances in the future. Craziest moment I had at the last Fanime convention I went to was when I had a cosplayer come up to me out of nowhere and give me a lapdance I was shocked but entertained at the same time it was indeed fun I hope to go back next year too bad I didn't run into Equestratola there this time to say hi even though im not a brony.

Yeah teens not my thing, youngest i go for is maybe 20s I had a woman in her 40s cosplayed as Rita Repulsa hit on me but I didnt catch on to her ques and was too interested in talking about the show and such. She was also a bit older than me but that hasn't stopped me before I did sleep with another WP member who as 49 and shes into Inuyasha but she lives far away so its hard to get a serious relationship going due to the distance, We are still good friends and she is a good person.
