I posted this in the Adult forum an didn't get much luck, so I'm going to try here:

I have been having trouble with erections as of late (past 2 years or so). I've ignored it due to ignorance, but I think something may be serious.

I can get erections, but it's taking a lot longer to achieve them. I bought a cock ring and a pump and it works great. However, I'm having to pump more than ever before. I'm in my late 30s and I don't think it is mental.

I'm not on any medication, either.

2 years is too long, maybe you should go to the doctor

You really should see your doctor. I have a similar problem, but I know the cause. It's my alleged antidepressant. I was on Prozac when it started to happen, so I was switched to Wellbutrin, but no improvement. I only know this because I took a med holiday and it started to come back. I am going to my gp tomorrow and hoping she will put me on something that works and fixes my issue.

Why are your asking about this on an asperger's forum of all things? We are not medical professionals. This is a medical/physical issue. You say it is not mental, therefore we cannot advise. Go to a damn doctor.

That is what I'm afraid of. I'm going to try and get an appointment.

I don't mind using the cock ring and pump, I just don't want to HAVE TO keep doing it.

See a doctor because that stuff is no good. But one advice, give up the pump and throw that s**t away! Yes it creates an erection but it's an artificial one and from what I heard it destroys tiny vessels that can lead to never having a proper hard on again... And don't try any blue pills without a doctor's advice, there is a reason why they are medicine and not candies. Other advice, and don't know what your diet is, but eat right, give up fat foods and foods with sugar, if you smoke give that up because it also affects the quality of an erection and if your are overweight, losing only 5 to 10 percent of your weight will also help a lot.
Back to foods, I know if I head a nice and juicy burger with loads of fries I will not perform has well has if I had lets say a Tuna sandwich or a salad.

Seek assistance from your doctor to rule out any medical cause. Diabetes and heart complaints can be the cause of dysfunction and early treatment may help.

I never heard about pumps leading to impotence. I'll go look that up to see if you are right. If you are, I gotta stop immediately.

I tried Viagra once and all I got was a headache.

I don't eat right, I must admit, but I do try to eat healthy whenever I can. I gave up smoking some time ago, so that's not a problem (well, smoking gave me up, but that's another story for another time).

Diabetes doesn't run in my family and I have a healthy heart (I think). Gonna see a doctor soon.

You need to see a doctor right away. You're way too young for this to be part of naturally aging. ED is often an early warning sign of diabetes, heart disease, arteriosclerosis, and some other serious helath issues.

I feel sorry for you. Your early thirties is very young to be experiencing these kinds of problems. I would go see a doctor. Perhaps it IS mental and your doctor will refer you to a sexuologist (psychotherapist).

I was one on a medication for my depression that actually caused me to get erections more and other related side effects that were definitely not unpleasant. I think it was called citalipran but it might be worth approaching your doctor as this could be caused by a stress or anxiety related problem but by ignoring the problem your doing yourself no favours. Do not be embarrassed about seeing your doctor about this as it a fairly common problem and the doctor has seen this many times. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted.

I don't think that it's mental, so I don't believe a psychologist would be right for me.

If it is mental, I will talk to my doctor about citalipran.
