Anyone else see this site pop up, is it for real? I'm afraid to register, it seems to good to be true. the main page looks pretty legit.

So I saw this thread, and decided to check it out/sign up...

In my inbox was a greeting from.. someone who runs the site? maybe? .. and her profile/description had aLOT to do with God and Jesus, so that immediately threw me off..

I'll still check it out a little more, though, as I would love to find an aspie girl that I could maybe be compatible with.

I never heard of it till you mentioned it & I just tried registering. I think it's a scam. You have to pay a membership fee & it showed about 10 people that were around my zip code. I live in a rural area so I'm very skeptical

Yeah, I'm noticing that too.

The thing that sucks is, the more NTs actually/finally become educated about aspergers/autism, the more they are going to try to take advantage of it.

It may be a scam, but I'm hoping its just brand new and there are few members still. I specifically remember google searching for this kind of site 3 days ago and this did not come up, so it must be fresh.

Even if the members are real people who signed up; they may not be active because you have to get a membership to send messages & i can not figure out how to cancel my account

It has too many members to be brand new. I've tired a few autism dating sites out & there was an extremely high ratio of men to women there because AS is 4x more common in men & AS guys tend to have a harder time finding relationships than women due to the social roles with dating so it is very unlikely that these sites will work for most guys. I just got an email from them with pix of 5 women who just joined & they look too perfect to be real & I find it hard to believe that 5 women would of just joined

I don't bother with rogue dating websites, as they do not have a sufficient population.

Unless you live in a large city, the odds of having more than 2 people in a 30 mile radius is not likely.

Wait nevermind what I said about checking it out. Paying for the chance of maybe hooking up with someone when I can just do the same for free? no thanks.

Someone really needs to create a dating site for Autism....a fast growing population in diagnosis, and hence need for partnership as they get older. Seems like a good business to start up, as a lot of people on the Spectrum are entering adulthood.

A member here created an autistic site like a year ago & he took it down after a few months because there were not enough members, especially women. None of the women ever responded to my messages but that's very typical for women on dating sites in general. Autistic dating sites don't work sense it's mostly men who join them.

It doesn't look legitimate to me. I think AspieAffection could use a major upgrade. The software hasn't been updated in years and the site is frustratingly buggy. There's another site called Autisticdating.net, but it gets so little traffic, it's not worth putting up a profile. It too uses the same software as AspieAffection.

Well that pretty much cinches it for me. I came across it and filled out most of my profile, then seeing all these glossy photos of hot women..combined with what others here have experienced..no thanks. I got a special offer for a trial subscription, something like $4.99 over three days..sorry I'll pass.
I was on Aspie Affection for about six months. Anyone guess as to how successful that venture was? Yep, basically an exercise in futility. I think someone put me on their favorites list, that's about all.
