One of my friends always complains how this girl stalks and chases after him romantically.

Even if you don't agree why do you think my friend would be in for a rude awakening if she started ignoring him?

Because your friend may realize the "absence makes the heart grow fonder."

He might realize, after the girl stops chasing him, that he really DID like her after all.

Why don't you ask him?

No, that would be effective.. Expecting strangers on a public website to know not only what a person is feeling, but why he or she feels that way is ineffective.

If you want to find out, you have to ask him.

He would only be in for a rude awakening if he actually likes and would miss the attention. You are assuming he does. But if it really does annoy him and he doesn't like it even a little then if she starts ignoring him he will be relieved.

A while back you wrote a thread about having a girl become obsessed with you but then she dropped it at a later point and you missed the attention. Your friend might react the same way but not necessarily.

No, I do not agree. If your friend doesn't wanna be chased by him, surely her not chasing him anymore is the desired outcome.
