Hypothetical situation:
-Persons A and B have been friends for a few months.
-Person A is attracted to person B, but hasn't had the confience to express this.
-Person A is currently involved in a very time consuming piece of work.
-Person B is attending a party.

Person A has two choices:
-Wait until the work is done in a few days, and visit person B at their job to talk to them.
-Attend the party, and talk to person B in the company of others.

However:
-Stopping the work at this point will make it impossible to go back to, leaving it incomplete.

Any suggestions as to the logical conclusion? I've dumbed it down to make sense, seeing as my actual situation is far more... abstract. Plus, I hate writing about this sort of thing - it works better as a list of facts. I've contemplated other possible choices, but these are the only two with potentially positive outcomes.

Wait until the work is done in a few days, and visit person B at their job to talk to them.

work comes first.... B will always be there afterwards

agreed, especially if the work cannot be resumed later.

Option C: Find other people to become attracted too.

This can be chosen in addition to either option A and B.

Not an option easily taken in 3 hours, which is how long I have to decide. Also, you make it sound overly simple - to find even one person who I feel comfortable around is tough enough. Plus, this isn't a do-or-die situation... if I make a bad call, it's not the end of the world. Hence asking for advice on which of *MY* two options to follow, not suggestions of others.

OK, forget about every one else.
Good luck with the one.

No need to get angry, just because your advice wasn't so useful in the short term...

Do these things ever go down well? In my experience, not so. I don't think I saw anywhere that B likes A, sounds a bit unrequited to me. Oh well, let's all keep trying like fools.

If you've been friends for a few months then a couple more days shouldn't make any difference, and the work does sound important.

BUT if the other person is going away really soon, or there's some competition for their affections, then more urgent action may be required.
