I have a question, and its the topic. I have had 4 Girlfriends in my life, and I have asked all 4 out. I have yet to ask a girl out and get rejected.... why? because throughout my life I have no guts, its said the man has to stand up and ask the girls out. but, I have the worst trouble even trying. in fact, if I know a girl likes me it becomes a LOT harder. I can talk to girls all day long and hang out with them. but the moment I realize that they like me I panic and can't think straight. does anyone else have this problem is is it just me?

It doesn't sound like you have too much of a problem though.

I can relate.

I'm a confident guy who can talk to girls and that, but there's plenty times where I have trouble with it.

Still, this didn't stop me from getting 2 girlfriends, which would have been 3. There was one girl who liked me, and I liked her back, I knew as soon as she first talked to me but once I developed feelings back I felt how you feel.

I felt nervous and 'maybe she's just being friendly'. I was still 75% sure she liked me and was going to ask her out soon but out of nowhere she had to leave town.

No, I don't think guys should always have to make the first move, but it seems most women don't so you'll have to if you want a relationship. It's very likely this will be the case.

But anyway you've had four girlfriends OP, so you're already clearly doing pretty well!

Do you still want help though on how to get rid of those nervous feelings of asking a female out?

Well, that's perfectly normal to feel that way. And even if you think males are supposed to ask females out, that doesn't necessarily mean we do it because we like to or want to, and i'd say many in fact don't because being nervous about rejection can make it hard.

But yes I have this problem too, and also feel nervous about even trying because I feel like I'll fail.

Well what I do is, I will only approach and/or ask females out if it's mutual from the very beginning from now on.

I don't want to have to 'impress' a woman or 'earn' her attention if I see someone I'm attracted to and try and approach them.

If it's not mutual then I simply won't approach, if it appears that it is, then I will.

what do you mean by mutual? you mean if you know they like you and vice versa? because even then I am not sure. sometimes they show all the signs but then, maybe I am misreading them? I could just be overthinking it if she is cute enough. what if its all in my head? DID she just play with her hair? is she agreeing with me on everything because she likes me or because I am scaring her? if I am scaring her what am I doing wrong? see? that monster of a paragraph is what usually goes through my head and ends up me gibbering like a fish.
