Me and my friend/girlfriend (it's kind of unclear which one and this may be adding to the problem...) have kissed a couple of times this week. While it feels very nice, afterwards I feel a really strong sense of guilt and dirtiness which can last up to a day, and also a huge desire to be single and alone at home or something. I'd like to write a whole list of potential reasons here but that probably wouldn't be much help, so I'll just ask, have any of you experienced something like this? Is it an aspie thing?

Whereabouts are you kissing them? Sometimes it's easy to go into things a little too quickly.

If you mean where as in what location, once on an empty street near my house and once in the school toilets...
Yeah, well I mean we've been considering dating for almost a year but you're right, it could be that this last week things have gone too fast.
Anyway, thank you! :)

I mean where, as in where about on their body do you kiss them. A lot of people jump straight to lip kissing because that's what they've seen in the movies  while others often end up kissing below the belt, if you get my meaning, If not then I could go into further detail... 8O

Haha I understand, nope not that (personally I'd find that gross :P ). So yeah, lip kissing, and also cheel kissing but I'm not counting that because it sort of just feels like hugging to me.

If you feel good kissing her, then you might be of an alternative sexuality.

These days, it's much better to be of alternative sexuality than previously.

You could even get married to a girl in many states and countries if you're a girl

I'm a heterosexual male--and I don't feel good kissing a man on the lips.

Have you perhaps considered finger kissing, or even hand kissing? Neck biting/kissing tends to be popular nowadays.

Lip kissing, for all that media loves to sell it, is more or less the Intermediate level of kissing, so if your starting with that straight off the bat, then of course you're going to be uncomfortable.

How old are you? Do you have a homophobic family/cultural background?

I probably didn't make it clear in the question, I'm bisexual and have known this for a while, so that's not really the issue here. Thanks anyway though! :)

The reason why I thought you were concerned about your sexuality was because you mentioned that you felt "dirty" after you kissed.

If you like this person, and this person likes why, why do you feel guilty?

Thanks, this is really helpful! I'll suggest this, thank you :)

Now I get it: you feel like you're going "too far, too soon."

Then I would agree with the above poster who suggested "intermediate" sorts of kissing.

I'm 16, and not particularly, although I'm not really 'out' to my parents so I guess that could play a part...thanks!

Oh yeah, I can see why you'd think that. Well, I don't know, I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out...probably like a lot of people on here I often feel things without being entirely sure why

You're welcome. I was just wondering if it was a residue of internalised homophobia.

Have you kissed people before? Have you kissed girls before?

How does your girl/friend feel about her sexuality? Do you get a sense from her that she's uncomfortable at all?

I'm wondering if the feelings are confined to girls, or if there's maybe an issue with kissing in general. My thinking/approach would be to look at underlying feelings and attitudes here, to try and uncover why you might feel guilty and dirty, but I think Idealist is onto something where it may just be that kissing on the mouth is too much too quick, and has given some good practical advice.
