A friend of my mum's and her husband were nearly 20 years apart and happily married until his death a few months back. What's the biggest age difference you've come across in a happy couple? :D

At a reunion of distant relatives a few years ago, one of the men I knew was a charming "disheveled artist" character who was about 60 years old, and his (wife? Girlfriend?) was 25-30 years younger than him.

I've dated up to 6 years younger and 8 years older than myself; my wife and I are close to the same age. I've seen gaps of 10-15 years works, sometimes better than larger or even smaller gaps because there is almost no 'overlap' and the two can learn from each other. Just my observation...

My great grandmother was in her teens (16 to eighteen) and married to a man in his thirties. I obviously wasn't alive then, I knew her when she was very old, so I don't know exactly how big the difference was. I was sort of involved with this guy, we have an 11 year age difference.

My grandparents on my mom's side are 7years apart. My grandma is 7years younger & got married at 17. My grandparents on my dad's side thou wer like 12 or 14years apart; grandpa was older. My parents are the same age thou. There's lots of cases here with guys around 40 dating girls around 19. There's also cases of girls around 14 running around with guys that who are in their 20s. Those relationships usually do not last long but no one stops it

My uncle has a penchant for marrying 25 year olds. His first wife and he had no age difference between them. Then he divorced her and married another 25 year old, there was about a ten year difference there. Then he divorced the second wife and married another 25 year old with an age difference of about twenty years between them. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest age gap I've come across and they appear to be happy. At least, until my uncle finds another 25 year old. He's not a very good example.

An old friend of mine was with a +15 year older woman that had like 3 kids with different fathers. He was 22 around the time, and maby two years later they had a kid. Then they separated.

I'd never be with a woman like that, regardless of age. Reminds me of what a female praying mantess do with her lovers... (money wise).

The largest age gap I've ever seen personally was me and my mate. He is 14 years older than me, for a while we 'dated', which is only in quotes cause to kids these days that wasn't a relationship, we never got physical. But I was with him for about three years, starting at 17, which threw off my dad a bit. Mum didn't mind since it wasn't sexual.

Its hard even to call it dating, it was more like mutually exclusive best mates. But neither one of us expressed interest in others because of the standing relationship, so I suppose it was dating. Lots of films and eating out. It was fun. Taught me a lot about how to be a proper person to the other half of the relationship too, so it was all good.

I should mention though that he was a TBI patient, it left him mentally both my age and older, depending on which part of his personality had been affected. So... not so sure you could really call it a 14 year age gap.

The largest age difference I can recall offhand is the one between my mother and stepfather. They are about seven years apart, and quite happy to have and be with one another, however frustrating things may get from time to time.

Personally, I've only dated in an age range from two years younger to one year older. I have occasionally taken interest in older women, but am almost always turned down, sometimes because they don't like the age gap, but usually because I haven't moved out or gotten a car yet, which seems to be important here, in the largest city in all of the U.S. of A. to have NO public transportation whatsoever..... The latter is a bit more understandable, and usually the case when this happens. It's difficult to take someone too seriously when you're off on your own, but that person is still living off their parents. I hope to move out and be on my own fairly soon.

My maternal grandmother was 19 years younger than my grandfather and my paternal grandmother was 9 years older than that grandfather.

I was married to a woman nine years older than me. I once dated a woman 15 years younger. I really liked her but the age gap and being at different places in our lives caused things to end. She really didn't mind my eccentricities at all. The fact that she was Hispanic may have been why she was attracted to me because I was just so different from the type of men she had known before. If she was a few years older and I a few years younger it may have worked out. We have remained on good terms though.

There was a 24 year difference between my ex and I. We started dating when I was 21, and she was 45. We both thought we were about 30 years old at the time. The relationship lasted 5 years, and we are still very good friends. It was a great experience, although considered taboo. Fortunately for me, I could care less! 8)

I've never gone more than 5 years either way. I almost lost my virginity to the older girl, kickin myself because I didn't!! ! She was bizarre, but she was HAWT. It's always the crazy girls with me...

The youngest was a little 18 year old while I was in grad school. It was funny, because it seemed to me I was just as much a mentor to her as I was a love interest.

I've seen a couple with a ten year age difference. Most times the guy is always older.

My parents are 21-yrs. apart in age and my boyfriend and I are 8-yrs. apart in age. Besides what the law says, I think that age shouldn't matter. All that should matter is that you love them and are happy with them.
