Hi guys.

Not an epiphany of sorts but a mix of what I've observed in my own behaviour and others'.
People like to feel valued and individual, like they have their own sense of purpose and meaning separate from all others.
Treating everyone the same out of kindness or fear of rejection is actually counterproductive to the dating process.
Equally as I've noticed in one of the other boards, referring to every single person of your preferred sex as "beautiful", "wonderful", or "hot" if they post a photo is not going to make any one of them feel more valued than the other or build a belief that they are actually hot.

If you like someone you need to prove to them that they are the one that stands out more to you than others.
I believe that this is what sets me back, and I also believe that on the other side of the fence it's what sets desperate people back.

Thoughts?

TL;DR - Treat the one you love, like Mew in Pokemon.

I think it's cool to let people know you find them special.

But don't come on too strong about it.

I used to come on too strong all the time--and I probably lost friends that way.

Just be there for your friends when they need you (but don't go around giving people money--just listen to what they have to say).

Hey TheSpectrum.

People like to feel appreciated, so whether it's for your SO or a friend, a small gesture can mean a lot. For example, I like to write notes and make cards for others, and I'd often include a favorite memory, funny story/inside joke, or a quality that I appreciate about that person. Maybe it's just me, but I find that it's these little things that hold the most significance to me.
