Which would be better--wearing petite women's clothes that fit perfectly or boys/mens' clothes that kinda sorta fits?
I'm kinda strange in that I have an hourglass shape with a 26 inch waist. If you hunt on Ebay or the thrift shops you can find women's clothes in colors that men commonly wear--though the buttons are usually on the "wrong side"

I find it makes a big difference in staying warm during the winter--a boys' jacket that floats on you isn't very effective in keeping you warm in subzero weather compared to a properly fitted jacket.

I would say "petite ladies' clothes," if I had a choice.

But if you're not comfortable in these, then probably a dress pants/sweater combination would work well.
