I'm deficient in the feeling department - how do you know when you have a crush? Or if it's just an interest in friendship?

You should feel "something" in your "sexual regions," I believe. Something which is pleasurable.

What kraftie said.

But does your heart beat faster when you see them? Do you get a thrill out of catching their eye across the room? Do you want to touch them?

I tried to find the bit from About a Boy on YouTube where Hugh Grant is explaining this to the boy, but I got sidetracked watching dating advice videos.

I bet there's one for, how do I know I have a crush?

haha! Yup, what Kraftie said! ;) Also, you might have sweaty hands, fast heart beat, your face might get red or feel hot or flushed, ETC. Your knees might tremble, you might stutter or maybe not be able to do things like you would do them usually when they're around, I use to spill things when mine was around, because he made me feel nervous and tingley. Hmmm, still does. Hope that helps.

Hm, but sexual inclination isn't synonymous with romantic attraction, correct? The two are not necessarily the same thing. One may want to f*ck a woman without any interest in her romantically.

Um, no, considering I'm autistic and I don't do eye contact, and am not comfortable with touch.

Oh boy. This is going to be ... different, in an alexithymic sense. I'm trying to understand my interest in someone as there is definitely interest of some kind, but it may be in a friendship kind of sense, maybe not.
This is probably a really bad idea.

Spend more time with this person. You don't have to know right now what you want. Give it time and slowly you will learn more about them and you will learn more about how you feel and you may want more than a friendship or you may just want to remain friends. Don't rush yourself.

Not necessarily a bad idea. How about we try it this way. What is it you are feeling or thinking, when ever this person is around? That might be an easier way of telling whether what you're feeling for this person is only on a friendship level or not. As Hurtloam stated, there's no need to rush it. Just take your time and see where your feelings lead. Feelings can be complicated, so they take time to be figured out. It's going to be alright.
