I've been chatting with this girl for a while. She's quite attractive but she's not very smart. All of my jokes and references fly over her head.

We might start dating soon but I worry about being locked in with her.

I might miss out on a smarter, prettier girl if I'm already dating her.

I want to date a smart girl but smart girls probably think they're too smart for me. If I wanted to meet smart girls I should have gone to university. That's where they hang out. Now I have to date girls with the same level of education as me :(

I want to date a smart girl but I feel like I'm not good enough for them because I'm uneducated.

This I'm chatting too seems to be really immature. Maybe because she only turned 18 about 3 weeks ago.

I feel very conflicted that I like her youthful looks but I also like a mature personality. Are there some people who mature at an early age?

But she's quite attractive. I like that she has perfect skin, I like that she has dimples when she smiles and I like that she has a double D bust.

I want to be with a girl who's smart and pretty but if I wait for too perfect a girl to come along I might be waiting for the rest of my life.

Maybe I should accept some imperfection like some girls aren't that pretty or some girls aren't that smart.

She loves children. She says she wants to have 3 of them. She was asking me probing questions about whether or not I want children.

I'm not sure. I know some people who take great joy in raising their kids and I have been wondering if I could be a tiger dad to child prodigy (living vicariously through him) but when I think of what parenthood would do to my finances I'm filled with terror!

Why do most of these young women want kids? Don't they realise it would be more rewarding to nurture a balanced stock portfolio than a child?

So she's not smart because she doesn't understand whatever random crap you're referencing?

No, it's because she keeps on asking me to define words during the course of normal conversation.

Also she didn't get the joke I told her \/

Jesus & Satan Computer Contest

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument  about who was better on his computer.  They had been going at it for days,  and God was tired of hearing all of the bickering.  Finally God said, "Cool  it.  I am going to set up a test that will run two hours and I will judge  who does the better job."

So down Satan and Jesus sat at the keyboards and typed away.  They moused. They did spreadsheets.  They wrote reports.   They sent faxes.  They sent e-mail.  They sent out e-mail with attachments.   They downloaded.   They did some genealogy reports.  They made cards.  They  did every known job.

But ten minutes before their time was up, lightening  suddenly flashed across   the  sky, thunder rolled, the rain poured and, of  course, the electricity went   off.    Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.  Jesus just sighed.  The electricity finally flickered back on, and  each of them restarted their computers.   Satan started searching frantically,  screaming, "It's gone!

It's all gone! I lost everything when the power  went out!" Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files  from the past two hours.

Satan observed this and became irate.  "Wait!   He cheated!  How did he do it?"

God shrugged and said, "Jesus saves."

Well you are talking about dating someone who's just 18. Maybe you should stick to your age group.

That's what I was thinking. I was trying to decide which is better, youthful looks or maturity.

I thought that certain 18 / 19 year olds must be more mature than me because they can study complex material in university, which I've never been able to do.

Not that this girl has started university yet, she's still in high school.

I have spoken to girls from that age group who were very mature and living independently but not all of them are like that.

This girl still lives with her parents but I shouldn't criticise because I didn't move out until I was 25

On the other hand, she's more mature than me in bed, she's slept with 4 times as many people as I have so in that respect I'm less mature than she is.

Maybe I should give her the benefit of the doubt. She's not immature for her age and she's probably not really that stupid.

Actually if she ever finds this thread l'll give her 10+ intelligence points ;)

Maybe she is intelligent in other areas. I don't really get your joke because I don't find it funny. I understand the joke itself.

You may be good with stocks (I'm assuming because of the last line) but I wouldn't have a clue.

Whereas if you had to look at cancer biology/immunology you probably wouldn't get it either.

If you have doubts and think badly of her already what's the point in dating her?

Edit:

Argon walks into a bar and the barman says "we don't serve noble gases here."
Argon doesn't react

I hate long jokes, that wouldn't make me laugh.

Is she Asian?

If so, she might not get Anglo jokes.

it has been my experience that one can, at best, choose two out of three goods in mates-

*exceptional attractiveness
*exceptional intelligence
*exceptional personality

almost nobody on earth has all three, that would represent perfection in a highly imperfect world.

Unfortunately she's not Asian.

I'm not surrounded by Asian girls like you are Boo. Actually I am on the train but they stick to themselves.

If I go for two out of three it feels like I'm settling.

Accepting other people's imperfection is nearly as hard as accepting my own.

exceptional is not needed; as long as neither of the three drops to "below average", i'm happy to accept that, depending on the 'value' of the other two points

it also has been my experience, that if a given person is exceptionally intelligent and exceptionally attractive, their personality is almost always below average. personality is one of those things that must be developed more often than not, and a person that coasts by all their life with a super brain and super body will generally not be expected to be notably kind/compassionate/personable.

All I want is a supermodel scientist. Is that too much to ask for? /sarcasm

^ It would be even hotter if she's a biologist.
