I don't know what 'the unwritten rules' are, but, I whole-heartedly agree with almost everything that ZachGoodwin^ has stated. Additionally, I personally, find any sort of flattery or anything remotely resembling objectification, an immediate turn-off (generally speaking), as I am not interested in getting to know a person for reasons related to physical appearance, and, what draws me to a person is their mind and heart. I should say, however, that I haven't actually dated in the true sense of what I understand 'dating' to be, or consist of. I have been in Love twice, in my lifetime, and I am 50 y/o. One experience evolved from a long-term friendship, and the other was a long distance/online friendship/relationship. I'm not sure I have any interest in traditional dating, per se, although, I would like to share my life with someone, and if it entails falling in love, along the way, then, that would be wonderful. I am off topic, now, though. Sorry about that.
