I wanted to do it but not how I did :/

I was typing out a text as a way of processing thoughts and accidentally sent it :/

I was angry because I'd called him, texted him earlier that day and he'd obviously been using his messaging service but hadn't bothers to reply. Not even "I'm busy I'll get back to you when I can." We haven't talked in a week and he just ignores me, yet again.

Anyway so my accidental text said "this is clearly over."

I said we needed to meet in person and talk things through but predictably he hasn't replied and probably won't bother.

I don't know the details, but going by this post alone it sounds to me like you're well out of it, regardless of how it happened.

One-sided relationships are draining and bad for the self-esteem.

I agree that wasn't the best thing you could have done. But it's DONE, at any rate, and I think it's time for you to cut this guy out of your life. He's really already broken up with you, he's just refusing to man up about it.

My thoughts on breakups:

I'd rather be in the business of making matches, but it seems all I do is tell people how to break up. Usually I'm talking to guys who have the initiative to set up a breakup date. I'm not sure how to tell a woman to set this up because of the differences in how we see gender roles in dating. What I see with women more often is getting angry and walking out of the relationship.

I suppose it's only fair that anyone who has the initiative in a breakup should pay for the breakup date. I'd prefer starting early afternoon, go somewhere nice/romantic (zoo/park), anywhere you have strong, positive memories together, and to make it PERFECT some place with easy access to ice cream. Let the other person enjoy the afternoon for a good 2 hours before you drop the bomb. No yelling or screaming. Tears are likely, and be prepared to stay a while. After about 4 hours, at MOST by sunset, it's over. DONE. Nothing left to say, last tear has fallen, gifts/mementos returned if you feel the need, an understanding has been reached that we can be friends has on the condition we need a LOOOONG time apart. Any uncivil behavior in the meantime means getting blocked/deleted/ignored/ghosted/arrested/shot, whatever it comes to.

Then the healing starts. It's likely best to not have contact for at least a year, though that's not universal.
