They don't like what he 'posted', they like his profile.
Liking someone's profile on a dating site is generally seen as an indicator that you're interested in getting to know someone better.
To like his profile and then ignore him when he does message them is extremely rude - they may as well had never liked his post in the first place and not give him the wrong idea.
It's just like the women who flirt with a man in real-life and act like they're interested, but then ignore him or reject him when he tries to ask her out on a date.
Leading someone on is generally considered rude in real life, so it should be just as rude online too.
