Not that I really expect my thread to do much but get locked eventually; someone has to make lulz of this though. Can we celebrate nerdkind here for once?

Well I spent my weekend learning vector CAD georeferencing software & how to make it run on smartwatches. 8O Strangely I do know plenty of women are into this but apparently few are crazy punks such as myself.

You're making CAD software for smartwatches? That is so cool! Will it run on my Pebble Time?

Cool is relative, :? I mostly had to unpack some Android Wear code samples but I've yet to get them running. Simulating the hardware isn't easy.

I guess what I'm getting at is having cool stuff to do doesn't really correlate with actually being cool. I'm just wishing girls in my life knew why I'm glued into my laptop so often; I wish all the heavy logic were more approachable.

Perhaps when you're near finishing, you could woo the girls by giving them an early copy of your software to run on their Android Wear watches.

Lol this, if it goes anywhere, will be infrastructure stuff for a big ISP.

My mind's mostly on one girl if I'm honest. I'm way too much more comfortable around machines & no one else really tolerates that.

I know computers are fun but you really should take 5 minutes out of your busy schedule so you can ask this girl out on a date. You can take your computer with you if want.

I've taken my laptop with me on a date, more than once. To facilitate this I own a jacket with an extremely large inside pocket so that I can conceal the laptop and pull it out at a moment's notice. This never fails to elicit a surprise.

Heh I'm sure I can leave Linux out of things but what's troubling is that we're very much on-again-off-again & still somewhat platonic. :/

It's a struggle to stop overthinking when I'm self-conditioned to accept complexity.

No probs. You can win her back by talking geeky to her.

So I've been told actually, still I'm fuzzy on how that actually works but so must things go. :nerdy:

Being an awful texter really slows things down, it's something I can only really do in person. Popular apps don't really cater to anyone who prefers substantial chats.

Yes. I've experienced the same problem. Many dating / messaging apps are only available on smartphone and not PC.

That's why I know use a BlackBerry because I type faster on a physical keyboard than on a touchscreen keyboard.

This allows me to send longer texts.

Thing is nobody expects a text from me. I have a Nokia for that very reason but I just wait & wait until I can get these things across directly.

I can't help thinking the only plausible solution is patience.
