Do you think a lot of women have a preference for men with blue/green eyes over guys with darker eyes like brown or even hazel?

a lot probably depends on what is common in your area. a lot of people find uncommon traits attractive because they seem "exotic."

but really, it takes both kinds, and eye/hair/skin color is really not important. personality and common ground go a lot farther imo....

Not really, no. Blue eyes is considered nice among Caucasian people, but there are lots of women who aren't looking for a Caucasian person for a mate. Probably what is attractive is what you have grown up around.

Why do you ask?

That will be a personal preference.

Mine: I don't like blue eyes myself, they look cold to me and I dislike looking at them even more than I do dark eyes (and I really don't like eye contact in the first place).
I like brown eyes best and then grey. Green is lovely but rare and more common on animals, which makes it almost look a little wrong to me.
Brown eyes are not that uncommon among caucasians.

I get complimented often on my blue eyes by women.

I remember reading a research article that said people are often attracted to people who have the same eye color.

I am very very weak for blue eyes but I once fell in love with and dated a man with dark brown eyes and I thought his eyes were beautiful and now I still like brown eyes to this day. Eyes in general are interesting to me I always pay attention to those first... You can see a lot about someone through looking carefully into their eyes. It is true that the eyes are windows to the soul...

Uh, no.....? Its all about personal preferences.

In my area, yes - it's a bonus for men to have them.

Most Caucasians happen to have brown eyes.

I wouldn't necessarily call blue eyes "light eyes," at all. They can be really dark blue.

Personally, I prefer brown eyes. But I know that blue eyes can seem pretty, too.

I think lighter eyes are considered softer traits and darker eyes are bolder. I'd guess the preference depends on the personality (light for fair, timid, brown for strong, bold, etc.), but that's just a guess.

As a side note, my girlfriend often tells my how much she loves my eyes (grey - green) so I'm lucky on that front but I'm positive it differs.
