I am in my mid 20's, physically fit but tend to be initially quiet and such. Aside from any issues with social anxiety, if the possibility is true that I had a low level of aspergers that didn't get diagnosed; I would love to hear any recommendations for dating sites.

I understand that regardless, online dating is going to be hard (especially for us guys) to get messages replied back. For one thing I'm not even sure if I did join a site that was specific to people that are different if there would be many local matches but I suppose it is worth a try.

I take the concept of a relationship very seriously and would love to find a woman that wants to be with a caring guy and we can enjoy hobbies together, etc... This is just a very important goal in my life. It's funny because in some ways I consider being in a romantic relationship like the epitome of happiness.

I am open to all your feedback and will listen to any of your personal insights with sites like that. If you think it would be easier to find a match on a more general term of "psychiatric dating", let me know. Again, I was never officially diagnosed with aspergers.

peace :D

Personally, I like the "old-fashioned" way.

I don't find dating sites to be "reliable."

There are people here who have met other people through dating sites, though.

It's sort of a crapshoot.

I was afraid you were going to bring "old fashioned way up". That's tougher for some of us than others. There's just something nice about the internet where it breaks the ice, then you chat on the phone, and maybe eventually meet up in a safe public place.

I still to this day suffer with social anxiety problems which aren't much of a problem if I do it initially via from the internet.

I never was very good at getting dates "the old-fashioned way."

I, actually, did some pretty drastic things (not abusive to women in any way). Sometimes, I succeeded; other times, I didn't. When I was younger, I would actually stutter when I asked a woman out.

I once wrote poems to women on the subway. I didn't get any dates---but I got some laughs, nevertheless.

I once answered a newspaper ad. I knocked on this woman's door. She dragged me in and was all over me right away; it was a weird feeling.

I find that dating sites tend not to attract women whom I would want to go out with.

Likewise, though my social anxiety is much better than it used to be, online dating simply gives me a better advantage of finding people who are both into the same kind of peculiar interests I am *and* either understand or have Asperger's/ASD themselves. I made more real-life dates through fandom blogs on MySpace and Tumblr than I ever did "the old fashioned way".

There's a similar thread on this board now for Aspies specifically. I posted one website for people in the States over there.

The old-fashioned way actually relies on you being able to meet women. In my region, women are incredibly rare to find in hobby or social groups - they tend to stick to their own social circles like glue.
