I wanted to be with someone like these two women but I can’t even get a coffee date and I am aging due to constant stress as well as depression.

You didn't name the "two types of women."

You're still young.

I know there are overlapping traits between the two but the former is more “geeky” while the latter is more “gothic”.

There probably aren't all that many goth women around where you live.

Maybe you should consider a fresh start in a different state or part of the country?

I guess getting away from your town is a good idea anyway.

Then, you know your taste. That's good. The next step: build a social circle containing people (preferably both genders) of your taste. The beginning is the hardest part but once you can find a suitable "local social center" - a person who maintains a lot of contact with a lot of people, they happen every now and then in every community - you can use them as a proxy for meeting more people of the kind you like.

I can relate to your situation. I don't have a type in terms of physical appearance, but I look for people who like animated sitcoms.

I haven't come across any in 6 years in Houston.

I've been telling you to get out of that backwards backwater for two years now. Now I see others are saying the same.

At least your two "types" are relatively similar. Mine are polar opposites (emo/punk/goth and cheerleader/girl jock/preppy) Although I did see a cheerleader at a local college basketball game with unnaturally colored hair and black eye shadow so maybe there is hope for me after all

He doesn’t live in a “backwards backwater.” I know that he lives near a big, progressive city even though it’s in Texas.

The place he lives is small and the opposite of progressive. I know--I'm from there. Unless you mean he's "near" Austin. .. but that might as well be in another state if you don't have a car.

Lots of people live in conservative areas. I live in a very conservative one. It doesn’t mean that every person is going to be conservative. One might just have to try harder.
