When women meet men on a dating site & meet in real life then months later, they break up. When do you go back on a dating site after a break up if you go on one? I was wondering. I broke up with my boyfriend last weekend.

It's probably better to try to meet someone in your community, rather than on a dating site.

Did you actually meet the person you were "seeing" face-to-face, within a few feet of each other?

You can start dating again whenever you feel ready. Good luck!

Why can’t people answer my questions? I’m asking about other people.

It's a personal question that depends on the individual and the context of the situation.

Date again when you feel like dating again.

There is no time period.

I know of people whose spouse died, and who loved that spouse, yet started seeking another person right away.

I don’t think my stepmother will seek another man after my father died, though. They were married 31 years.

You weren’t married to the guy. You didn’t even know him in person. So the “time period” is, on average, much less.

Do what you feel like doing.

Yes, you should probably take a little break.

Like, you don't want to add more dating woes to the list of setbacks and especially not so soon. Take a breather, there's only so much that a human heart can take. Right now is the holidays so you will probably want to avoid seeing things that will make you feel left out and lonely. Slow down and focus on some hobbies in the meanwhile, if you have close friends now is the time to try to do things with them, if not, focus on character-building hobbies which will make you more desirable when you do start dating again.

You were right, when I was on OkCupid, it was December, the men didn’t message me around Christmas time, they were probably busy. But I seem more happier talking to men, I guess the attention.

You were right, I never met him in person. My ex-boyfriend was a little right, breaking up was for the best, sometimes I cannot handle his attitude, he sounded like my sister :( :wall: :wall:

I want to talk to men, but they always rushing things.

It really is a matter of fate. It took me 2 years between my last and present relationship. Nothing seemed to feel right. Which doesn't say much because I never choose a partner that would be a conventional life companion, I don't trust men as partners, only as friends. It's odd but that's me.
Kitty I think you are absolutely right to not meet men straight away. I have a feeling that like me, you don't read them efficiently and may be duped. Be very cautious love.

There is no written rule, it's when you are curious about meeting someone. Jumping right back into dating leads to a tendency to value the idea of being in a relationship over having a relationship. Do your own thing, and when you start thinking about dating again, you'll know. Have you tried Bumble? It has a similar set up as Tinder, but women start the conversation first so it minimizes the creep factor some other platforms have.

Well in my perspective I don't really see it as a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship if there has been no meeting in person. I mean I understand the 'break-up' may have been difficult...but I wouldn't go so far as saying that guy was your boyfriend, it was someone you were chatting with. But that is just how I see it, like I'd never have considered someone my boyfriend if we hadn't met in person. Sorry if that is offensive, but is my perspective.

I met a man before from online dating, I met him out of boredom, it was sooo awkward, alot of silent, it wasn’t very good, we never saw each other again, we stopped talking online too, I learned a lesson :D Not to rush things. It’s better to be friends first, get to know each other so things won’t be sooo awkward when you do meet .
