I’m tired of men demanding to go on a texting app. Why they never ask me. Men probably think women have to do anything they want.

Sadly, there are still some men who daily "drink the kool-aid" of toxic male culture. They are not worth your trouble. Stand your ground, and insist on open discussions. Post any private messages they send, or at least forward a copy to the moderators of the dating sites, and definately report them if they start belittling you, threatening you, or quoting religious materials at you. No one deserves that.

Online dating doesn't works well for women and men because you don't see the opposites and you can't spot their intentions, feelings, behaviour and the whole way they are. There are lots of scammers, many perverts, lots of fake profiles and also people who are just in unhappy relationchips and want to cheat. Texting apps like WhatsApp allow videocalls and voice calls and make it easier to share pictures and allow to respond a bit faster to messages. But even videocalls don't allow eye contact and make it hard to establish any emotional connection. At least they may provide a first impression of your opposite and as long as you don't share your address it's still unlikely that your to becomes a big trouble to you. I guess it's wrong to rely on the dating site only where you get nothing at all about your opposite.

Men don't like taking things slowly on dating sites because of how common curving is. Girls sometimes respond to guys while having no intention of ever taking things further. That makes guys feel like they were lead on & like they wasted their time.

I used to know someone (male) who signed up on a dating side as a woman out of curiosity. His profile was not made to make his make-believe female some kind of really hot woman. It was more like someone who was middle of the road. Not beautiful, but not ugly. Not fat, but not trim. Not rich but did have a decent, but low-skilled job. And so on. And he didn't include a picture -- there was no such option on that web site.

I looked at the profile and it was pretty much what he said it was.

According to him, the responses he got to his profile started almost immediately and were full of more pressure than he could have expected. He said that he could see why so many women didn't like being hit on like that.

He was pretty disgusted and stopped reading the responses after a few days.

I can't speak for all guys, but I used to do this because I thought it was more "dominant" and I believed that I'd seem more attractive. Lol smart, right?

Don't confuse pushy for dominant. Being pushy undermines an appearance of being dominant, it's a sign of weakness and insecurity. People who are genuinely dominant don't need to be pushy because they cause people to want to work towards their goals and align their interests, etc.

Some men are different, I find some men can wait, I can talk to guys without them telling me to go on text app. Some men I made friends with over the years.

Interestingly, back when I thought I would like a certain kind of romantic relationship, I had a few men do that to me. There was one who said he lived in my area, and I thought we had formed a pretty strong bond just through PMs, but every time I’d suggest that we actually meet, he either wouldn’t reply to that message or would promptly change the subject, and eventually he just stopped replying altogether.

That behavior is common with catfish if you never video chatted thou there's other possible explanations including someone being nervous about meeting someone from the net.

Another explanation is that the man was married, and did not want to risk having his wife find out.

So true, yet the myth of the "alpha man" being just a bully, the jock/jerk type is as popular as ever, if not more :?

Um women want to text too. I think most people only want to use dating sites to get connected nit communication.

I believe part of the problem is that many men aren't actually 'alphas' by personality but they aspire to be so they put it on as an act that most people will see through. The guys who actually dominate rooms don't need to pretend to be that guy because it just happens naturally for them. The guys who pretend can't be that guy because they ruin it before it might have happened naturally.
