I posted on here over the years about finding a girlfriend and I always had some urgency about it because I just knew the future was going to be bad and I was right. I didnt predict it would be social distancing exactly, but here we are, now everyone has to stay two meters apart and of course this is disasterous for flirting, pheromones, and the natural process of falling in love.

I managed to get a girlfriend last year who turned out to be a narcissist and she dumped me on Christmas. Then the lockdown happened and now its clear that all the single people will have no avenue to meet anyone ever again. And sure I tried online dating, to death. Its over for me. Literally.

The one thing I wanted, everyone was so desperate not to let me have it, and now here we are. I don't have it and the draw bridge has been pulled up. Well done. You win all the people who rejected me. Hope you're happy now!

What is your reasoning behind this ill-conceived claim?

Ditto.

Are you absolutely certain of that?

What have do done to be interesting?

For example, any women I met before lockdown who I messaged during lockdown have ignored me. Theyre not missing me. Before they would pretend they cant talk to me because theyre busy with work, now that their jobs have been destroyed, they just ignore me, because they know their excuses are bull.

The "good times" will return (they already are).  Your chances will go up.  But again, what have you done to make yourself interesting to other people?

People ignore others for a variety of reason -- one of which is that they are just not interested in you.

So, one last time, what have you done to make yourself interesting to other people?

I'll take that answer as meaning "I will do nothing to make myself interesting to other people".

Sorry, kid.  Can't help you.  There are already several other members of this website who for years have registered the same "It's hopeless/I can't get a girlfriend/It's society's fault" complaint, and who also refuse to act on the advice they've been given.

Maybe someone else has patience with this sort of thing, but not I.

Best of luck to you, though.

If what you are actually looking for is affirmation of your misery, then you will find plenty of that here.

Again, best of luck to you.

I have exactly zero experience or advice about meeting people, but I can say there is no logical reason (that I can find, anyway - feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) to believe that quarantine is going to last forever. You are not eternally confined to your home and the grocery store. Sooner or later, people will start going out, talking to each other, having dates, and forming relationships just like they used to, and you will be just as free to try to do the same things. I realize that doesn’t do anything to help matters now, but... well, that’s about all I’ve got that might be at all helpful.

For what it’s worth, I do hope you manage to find the right person and have an excellent relationship. It makes me happy for other people to be happy, even complete strangers, so I sincerely wish you the best of luck once quarantine is over.

I'm sorry that the relationship didn't work out for you and to make matters worse, right on a day of Christmas.

As much as you want to have a girlfriend, I think the best place to start is looking into yourself and your qualities, look at what makes you happy and hopefully all else follows. When the lockdown is finished and social distancing is not needed, you could find some activities or hobbies or to be in a group. There's always bound to be someone who you'll meet and if they like you, naturally it should all follow.

Online dating for me is a definite no no. I've already had one friend who went through online dating, met a person who he has not met from Nigeria. He's spoken on voice and on video but ended being played and spent thousands on this woman. When they broke up, it broke him down on so many levels. He's never been the same person I knew both mentally and financially.

I think that the people on this site should meet up - but how?? Safety could be an issue.

Online dating is fine for getting to know potential partners, but it's best not to give them anything of value (money, emotions, personal info, etc.) before you know who they really are. I'm sorry for your friend, I hope that he is more careful in the future, not that he loses all faith in humanity
